Presenting...Fée Uhssi

Canary Wharf, with its' sky high commercial buildings and blindingly shiny mirrored doors,  held space for a creative brand to keep your eyes on...

I was introduced to Fee Uhssi's collection, who is understood by many to be a fashion artist. Her expertise lies in the art of creating fashionably, colourful and entrancing outfits from beautifully crafted and bespoke fabrics. Uhssi is a French/Nigerian stylist and fashion designer who now lives and works in London. Her collection is entirely inspired and comprised of her richly diverse and cultural upbringing; her passion for design is evidently reflected in the intricacies of the patterns and vibrantly eclectic colours adorned upon her fabrics.

I enjoyed perusing over her collection, a fan of lavishly adorned colours and bold designs (as well fashion influenced by diversity and culture) so I was incredibly pleased to see a fellow creative like Fée  present a pain-stakingly precious collection like this.

Yet what is the inspiration for her relentless creativity? Fee finds it everywhere, from nature, colour, light, music, art and shades and is consistent on finding a balance which amalgamates varying influences and cultures- a rich mix melting pot if you like, "where European legends meet African mythology"

Her fabrics are fair-trade, an attempt to push for an entirely sustainable range and she is involved with the creative process from its' initial stages; noticeably remarkable is that for her Wrap Me Up line, she has made use of simple cuts and shapes so as to adhere to varying body types. Diversity and ethics at its' finest and at the forefront of fashion, no?
