Birthday Goes Sippin’ and Shoppin’
You’re probably wondering what all the furore is about when it comes to the newly talked about trend of sippin’ and shoppin’. Well we had a go to see what all the fuss was about and boy were we impressed…
The Sip & Shop presents the Ultimate Girls day out! A Fabulous Pop up boutique of independent designers of fashion, accessories, lifestyle goodies & Beauty treats. This phenomenon started in the USA and was hugely popular with women as they had the opportunity and platform to showcase their businesses in fashion, beauty and life style.
However, two bright sparks, friends and event organisers Natalie G and Angela Jules worked together to bring the UK the first Sip and Shop event. Held at the exclusive Primo Bar in the absolutely stunning Westminster Park Plaza Hotel, the night featured exhibitors, music, cocktails, nibbles and a Mandara Spa beauty treatment! Even more impressive and certainly altruistic was part of the nights’ proceedings went to the charity organisation, MS Society UK. There was no doubt that the night was a success with Primo Bar heaving with likeminded women, business women, media and fashion and beauty lovers. We would definitely recommend our readers to hit this event held monthly, at the Primo Bar.
There were various exhibitors all catching Birthday’s eye, but none more dazzling than the array of jewellery and accessories from Boujis Doll, a boutique specialising in statement jewellery and always following the trend. We even spotted a similar necklace to Beyonce’s gold neck candy in her song XO! “Dolls” can purchase the latest celebrity trends on their site.
Majenta Beauty, a beauty salon based in Oxford showcased their own brand of make up. Having tried the gorgeous eye shadows, we can definitely recommend them! There was a selection of eye shadow palettes, lip colours, foundations in all skin tones and a variety of other fantastic quality cosmetics. Being die-hard beauty trend followers, we spotted great shades and have been scoping for creative looks to try.
When you have the perfect make up and the gorgeously matching accessories; there’s one thing for it: you need the killer outfit. That’s where Fashion Therapy UK comes in. However, it’s not your usual fashion boutique as it comes with a unique twist. Fashion Therapy UK not only provides fashion but therapeutic well being advice via their blog. The initial idea behind the scene is to offer support to women to achieve inner well-being as well as looking fabulous on the outside.
The Argan Company took our fancy when we were given the cutest pint-sized sample bottles of pure Argan oil sourced from Morroco. It literally glided over our hands, melting into our palms and we walked away tentatively stroking ourselves in awe at how amazing it oil was. It was not greasy but moisturising enough to use a pea sized drop to lather over our skin. They come in the perfect pint sized bottle, small enough to stash in our handbags! What we were impressed with was not only can we use it on our hair but on our skin! Never say no to natural hair remedies girls!
Birthday loves the quirky and the out of the ordinary so when we came across Anna P, the eco lux accessories designer, this was perfection. Her range of accessories including handbags, bangles, detachable headbands with decorative brooches and purses were all handmade using dyed leather, vintage fabrics and leather.
We can’t wait to sip and shop at their next event!
